How we help?
We understand that connection to community is so important in living your life to the full. We support you to participate in activities outside of your home so that you can pursue your particular interests and goals. This support can includes:
- Providing companionship while you’re out in the community
- Visiting friends and family
- Participating in sports, activities, festivals or concerts
- Joining in community outreach programs and group activities
- Shopping for essentials or just for fun
Activities that are funded
Under Assistance with Social and Community Participation, the NDIS may fund a support worker to support you to:
- Attend personal development courses.
- Join a social group.
- Take an outing or a holiday.
- Go on a holiday camp.
- Visit your local library.
- See a movie or a concert.
- Go to community events, and/or.
- Join a sporting club.
- Hiking/ Bush walking/ bird watching
- Sunset watching/ picnic
- City walking
- Fishing
- Camping
- Cooking/ BBQ
- Gardening
Recreational community activities are developed according to the participants interests and they include a broad range of groups. Some of these groups are, but not limited to:
- Art & Craft
- Cooking Groups
- Social Groups
- Music Therapy
- Meditation Groups
